  Mrs. Maria Teofilo is a National Board Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) and she is also a Culinary Coach based in Miami. She trained at Duke Integrative Medicine's Health & Well-Being Professional Program and completed a program at Harvard University in Culinary Health Education Fundamentals (CHEF) Coaching.

Maria obtained a certificate from Cornell University in Nutrition and Healthy Living. Prior to that, she gained her certification in Plant Based Nutrition at the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell, and also in Nutrition Science at Stanford University.

Maria received her B.S. in Business Management from Marymount Manhattan College. While studying at Marymount, she attended The Institute of Culinary Education (previously Peter Kump's New York Cooking School). She is currently working on a graduate certificate from Tufts University titled “Developing Healthy Communities."
  Maria grew up in Brazil and moved to New York City in 1991. She currently lives in Coral Gables, FL with her husband, Roberto, and their dog, Milou. Their daughter is an undergraduate student at New York University. Maria is passionate about using food as medicine and facilitating sustainable lifestyle changes.

Maria currently works with private, national and international clients as a health and culinary coach. She was a volunteer at First Serve Miami, a non-profit organization that combines tennis, education, and the fostering of life skills to better the livelihoods of children in disadvantaged communities. She is also a member of the Coral Gables Garden Club where she chairs the Heritage Garden at Merrick House. In addition, she is a member of The Teaching Kitchen Collaborative, a network of thought-leading organizations that work collaboratively to enhance personal and public health. Maria is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
